To check current status:
In Outlook, click File | Options | Trust Center
Select the Trust Center Settings button
In the Trust Center dialogue, select the Programmatic Access item on the menu
Check the Antivirus Status entry (should say Valid, but if it shows Invalid, proceed with next steps)
Reset status:
Ensure Outlook is closed, then locate the Outlook icon in the Start menu
Right-click on Outlook and select Run as Administrator
Follow the steps in the section above to check the Antivirus Status – should now show as Valid
Close Outlook, then re-launch it as you would normally
All being well the error should now be resolved.
