A driver cannot load on this device after Windows 11 upgrade

After the first login following an in-place upgrade to Windows 11 (24H2 in this instance), an error dialogue from the ‘Program Compatibility Assistant’ was shown that suggested a security setting was preventing a specific driver from loading on the device. The setting in question is the Memory Integrity option in the Windows Security centre, but rather than simply turning that off, the better solution is to find the driver and remove/update as appropriate.

In this example, the driver was listed as iqvw64e.sys, and research suggested this was linked to some Intel network monitoring app. However, no such app was installed, and further investigation showed it was used by an outdated Dell Support Assistant app on the machine. Simply removing that app – or you could uninstall and reinstall the latest if you actually want to use it – and a reboot did the trick.
