Enable Remote Desktop (RDP) remotely…

Remote desktop connections are not enabled by default in Windows 7 and later, and although I normally enable it when installing PCs, there has been the odd occasion where I find that I forgot just when I need it!

There are four steps to complete to remotely enable RDP:

1.Open ports in the Windows firewall
2.Start the Remote Registry service
3.Change a registry setting to enable Remote Desktop
4.Start the Remote Desktop service
